Here at the Funding Innovation Studio, we are preparing to kick off a season of experiments focused on increasing representation, relationships, and access to capital for founders who are typically under-networked. This newsletter will restart when there is more to share around what we are learning from the experiments.
In the meantime, we have something very special to share with you…
Please join us on March 26th for an in-person conversation with the authors of Make Work Fair, Siri Chilazi and Dr. Iris Bohnet, at LabCentral on March 26th.
When: March 26th, 5-7pm
Where: LabCentral, 700 Main Street, Cambridge MA
With this book, Siri and Iris have provided all of us who care about fairness in the workplace with a super actionable, research-backed resource for HOW to design the systems that create the outcomes we want. There is a ton of inspiration in their book for how to apply these principles to the venture industry as well.
(If you participated in our Showcase event last fall, you will remember Siri contributed to the design of our pitch event experiment.)
The strategy behind the Funding Innovation Studio is grounded in the methodology described in this new book. It is an immense honor to highlight their work within our community. The event is open to the public and we have free copies of the book to giveaway to attendees! Please join us and share with your friends!
The Funding Innovation Studio is a non-profit program, founded by LabCentral and led by Beth McKeon, with a mission to increase funding access and opportunity for under-networked founders in the life sciences.
The Funding Innovation Studio convenes and supports innovators from across VC, universities, and entrepreneurial support organizations as they run rapid experiments to design tiny changes to the funding process that increase fairness and opportunity for all. The Funding Innovation Studio has an open-source policy, sharing the wins and fails from these experiments here on Substack and with its community of practitioners with the goal to see widespread adoption and replication of emerging best practices in this field.
